Spring Mysteries Festival XXV
Nordland, Washington
Spring Mysteries Festival 2010

The Spring Mysteries Festival is a recreation of the Eleusinian Mysteries, the ancient initiatory rites of classical Greek Paganism which were conducted in secrecy for over two thousand years before the common era. The ATC brings you this continuing initiatory cycle, now in its 25th year of continuous presentation, including the Rites of Passage for youngsters coming into their adulthood in our community; the Purification Parade to the Sea , with the priestesses making cleansing offerings to the sea on behalf of the Mystai (The Greeks’ name for the participants) , all who will undergo the Lesser Mysteries.

For those who have gone through the Lesser Mysteries in a prior year, there is the Greater Mysteries, or Epoptaic Initiation. There are also many discussions, workshops, classes, and lectures about all aspects of Wicca, Paganism, and the ATC Tradition hosted often by well-known elders and members of the regional and national community. The Pagan Talent Show is always a lot of fun, as is the Pagan Fashion Show. Then there are the Shrines to Hecate, Aphrodite, Pan, and other gods, as well as celebrations, bardic circles, music, drumming, and magic running throughout the entire weekend.

Merchants from across the land come to offer their special wares for sale in the Snack Kitchen area, the source of between-meals snacks, sweet delights, and ESPRESSO to jump-start your mornings and prolong your nights! Indoor bunking is in heated dorms where lots of hot water showers are available. Meal service is mainstream (*unless you specify a special diet) to suit every taste, with big servings of wholesome, tasty food prepared by our staff of professional cooks and many volunteers. No one ever goes away from our kitchen hungry!

Registration fees include all festival activities, as well as dorm bunks and all meals, and must be RECEIVED AT ATC no later than the indicated date to get reduced rates. Please use the registration form. Attach additional separate form for each and every festival attendee you are registering filled out completely. Want to be bunked in the same location? Send all those registrations together in the same envelope. Accommodations are dorm style in heated buildings. A small number of more private family style accommodations are available for a daily surcharge which varies with the facility, in the general range of $135/day extra. If you are interested, please call for information. These accommodations are almost always taken very early, so act fast.

This is mostly an indoor, NOT a camp-out event. Registrations are accepted on a first come, first served basis, and usually sells out before the registration closing date. Don’t delay! Some limited Staff Intern and Work Exchange jobs are available for those who can not afford the full fees (not available to Merchants or those with small children) . If you need consideration, call us at (360) 793-1945 right away, as these are limited and fill up early as well.

The Beltane Gathering: a sacred sexuality event
Darlington, Maryland
The Fire and the Heat

Registration for Beltane 2010 is now open. We invite you to consider joining us for another year of ecstatic worship, passionate learning and just plain fun at wonderful Ramblewood Retreat Center in Northern Maryland. And if four days isn't enough for you, we invite you to join us for the Pre-conferences or pre-vacation beginning on Wednesday evening, April 28.

Every year, we like to refine our events somewhat. This year's major refinement is the addition of a social network just for Beltane attendees. It is being hosted, experimentally this year, on Ning.com. We hope you will use this community to get to know your fellow attendees, make arrangements to meet up at the event, share information, arrange rides, etc. You also may have noticed that the name of our event has changed. We got many negative comments over the year about including the word "sexuality" in the name of the event, thus we chose to simplify the name. We hope you will find these changes enhance your experience of our event.

Each year pagans, polyamorists, swingers, tantra practitioners, members of the leather community and other people with a passionate attitude towards life gather together in Northern Maryland to celebrate Beltane with a variety of rituals, workshops and experiences. We embrace life and each other in an open environment full of excitement and joy. We invite you to become part of that community.

Here, you will find a supportive environment for exploring the sexually sacred and celebrating the ecstatic. You will find others of a like mind with whom you can experience different ways of loving, different roads to achieving bliss. You'll be able to join an intentional community exploring the many facets of love and sex and the many ways they can be sacred.

In 2010, we'll have nationally and regionally known presenters offering workshops, lectures and hands-on demonstrations covering topics such as tantra, polyamory, personal intimacy, sexual orientation & gender issues, the changing definition of the family and communication skills. And of course, we will have workshops where the focus will be fun. All with a spiritual bent.

We’ll also have drumming and dancing around the bonfire each night, and we are putting extra effort into making our fires real events at Beltane this year. Play parties and other fun things we know you'll enjoy will be offered nightly as well. And don't miss our new Sexploration space which debuted to rave reviews at Fires of Venus 2008. In addition, we will host Babylon's Temple again. This is a space which is set aside from the rest of the event as an opportunity to take a break from the sometimes-frenetic pace of the Beltane Gathering. You can relax and get counseling, perhaps a tarot reading, pray, meditate, whatever. We encourage you to explore it.

Our pansexual, clothing optional retreat attracts adults 18 & over from all backgrounds, orientations and walks of life. The only thing we ask is that you have an open mind and be nonjudgmental.

Beltane is held on a private 200-acre campground on the banks of the Susquehanna River in Northern Maryland. Only minutes from I-95, it is about 90 minutes from Philadelphia and 45 minutes from Baltimore.

What are attendees saying about their Mabon Festival experience?

Below are just a few examples of the e-mails we've received:

"I was really impressed by how hard the festival organizers worked to make the weekend's event run smoothly and to make everyone feel welcome. As a former event planner for a living I know just how difficult it is to make a large event run seamlessly and I am grateful for all of the efforts.

The event's location in the foothills near Shenandoah National Park is very sacred and beautiful -- No wonder some of you have chosen to live there! Such a peaceful and hopeful place.

I loved the rituals I attended, and the fact that they were all a bit different, but kept to a tight focus of intent and working. I also thought the music was top-notch, and I keep raving about the fabulous musicians to my friends.

Most importantly, I brought away many good feelings about being able to practice my religion openly and publically, if only for one weekend. I have had some thoughts about the little things I can do with respect to living my religion a bit more "in the sunlight, " even if mainstream culture still has trouble with it's minority faiths. I think that the more folks who follow earth-centered paths come together in groups -- the more the world will need to recognize and accept us for who we are and for how we choose to live our lives. This is a powerful thing for folks who are mostly solitary, or who practice in very small groups.

Many blessings, and may our paths cross again soon."

"What a wonderful weekend. Thank you all for making our first visit with the group a great one. As I was informed by my kids as we left to head home "We Will Be Back For Beltain". If we dont see any of you before then ..........Blessed Be."

"Thanks and Blessings to the Planners and All who contributed their energies to the Mountain Mysteries Mabon Festival this past weekend! Sat night's jam was mind blowing with the fire dancers and chimney fire! Gavin and Yvonne added a whole other dimension of depth. It was so great seeing old friends from many years of attending Beltane at this location as well as meeting new friends. Heavenly Acres is indeed a Sacred Cove...there is something about this particular place on the Earth that feels so SAFE and NATURAL. I am thankful for that. The Energy of the entire weekend was the same for me and my family...safe and natural. As my 11 year old daughter, Joy said when we got home, "I feel like this weekend recharged my soul...like I can now make a fresh start in life."  Much Love, -Sunny"

"I have never been to a festival of any kind that had the energy of the Mountain Mysteries Mabon Festival. It was truly amazing and wonderful to be there. At every moment of my journey to Virginia and all during the festival weekend, I continually experienced synchronicity. I received validation of my own inner journey, encouragement in my purpose of life, and energy and love to take away with me to help me grow and thrive spiritually. The entire mood of the weekend was one of love and compassion and community. In that light, let me extend my warmest regards (and please quote me here) to all the committee members and those who helped make this weekend the incredible success that it was..."
