When the Student is Ready the Teacher Will Come by PAniteowl aka Jacci Sutton
OK, so what the heck does that mean? When you finally get
your pointy hat, and long black cape? When you have the perfect
crystal wand with the gold tip? When you have candles in every
known color? Or could it mean that you 've studied, and shown
yourself to be intelligent and dedicated enough to really make it
a pleasure for a teacher to work with you?
With access to so much information today via the Internet, it
is relatively easy to start your own research. It takes time,
and dedication, but the wealth of knowledge available is so great
compared to just 10 years ago, it makes my mind boggle! Books are
available with the stroke of the keyboard (and a valid Credit Card),
while many Internet Sites give information freely. Discussion
groups, and Email lists are wonderful sources of information. But
please be aware that there are many on these lists who know less
than YOU do! Not everyone is an expert, not everyone is a
teacher, and more importantly, not everyone is a nice person! No,
I'm not talking about the Pedophiles, or stalkers, I'm talking about
the same type of fundamentalists we see in other cultures. The
predators, whose main objective is to control, or to get a reaction
from those who are sincerely walking their paths. I sometimes
wonder what their lives are like. Do they have friends? Family?
A psychologist? None of us are immune to this type of individual,
yet we can refuse to be drawn into their mind games.
Sometimes, it quickly becomes evident that a person is basing
their comments on the erroneous assumptions of Witchcraft as portrayed
by Hollywood, and TV Sitcoms. Often, they've been brought
up with horrendous stories of "What Witches Do" .. and
in rebelling against parents, or society, adopt the very things
that were told to frighten them in the first place. Does that
mean they are following the ways of the Witch? No, it means
they are following the ways of other Religions, and focusing on
antagonism and shock. They are not following OUR ways, but
perpetuating the myths and fears of others. Now this is definitely
NOT a person I want to teach. Why? Because I will never
live up to their expectations as an Evil Old Hag! Nor do I
want to! I would no more give a spell to someone like this,
than I would put a gun into the hand of a 2 year old, or a psychotic!
Perfect Love and Perfect Trust are ideals for which to strive.
They are not given automatically . they must be earned. The
teacher looks for the student, just as the student seeks the teacher.
Understand this, and may your search be fruitful.
